Our West Sylvan League President, longtime coach and friend, Kevin Montavon was killed in an accident last year. Our deepest sympathies remain with his wife Lisa and family. "MONTY" was a special person to our players and program. Please continue to keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.
A trust fund exists for the family at Wells Fargo Bank. Any branch will accept donations under the name of "Kevin Montavon".

A Tribute
Kevin Montavon was an exceptional person who touched the lives of many people within his community. Kevin accomplished this by coaching youth football for over ten years. During his tenure with West Sylvan Football, the program grew from two teams and 40 players to eight teams and 200 players. MONTY served not only as head coach, but also as league president, spending many hours on the field and at meetings. While he was a successful as a coach, MONTY took great pride in his coaching ethics. He earned a "Wellnitz" award (a sportsmanship award given by his peers) not just once, but EVERY year, by the Tualatin Valley Youth Football League. MONTY gave as much to the underdog players as he would the top-level players. He went the extra mile to seek out kids who were having troubles. He believed that including them on a football team would help them stay focused in school. The players weren't the only ones influenced by MONTY. As the program grew, more and more parents became involved and the soon discovered that he was easy to work with. Players, coaches, and parents worked together on projects such as school clean-up days and providing afterschool study hall for the team.
WE ARE THANKFUL THAT WE HAD THE CHANCE TO BE PART OF HIS LIFE. WE THANK HIS LOVING WIFE, LISA, FOR CONTINUALLY SHARING KEVIN WITH US. MONTY WILL BE MISSED BY MANY PEOPLE BUT OUR MEMORIES OF HIM WILL BE TREASURED FOREVER.
